Laws about Drug Testing in Wyoming
While Wyoming does not have any laws stating that private employers must be drug tested, drug testing is required for state employees. This includes contractors or other individuals who will be performing work for the state of Wyoming. The Wyoming State Legislature passed a bill in 2006 allowing employers to receive for a 5% discount on workers compensation insurance premiums if they have a qualifying drug free workplace policy. According to Wyoming law, the drug free workplace policy must include substance abuse testing prior to employment, at random intervals, drug and alcohol screening for reasonable suspicion, and substance abuse screening after a workplace accident or injury.
